Two books share one concern: helping Muslims live their faith thoughtfully and responsibly in the details of life abroad. Buslat al-Mughtarib provides a broad guide to everyday concerns, while Zad al-Mughtarib develops complex situations and contemporary questions.

مقدمة سلسلة دروب المغترب
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم، والحمد لله رب العالمين، والصلاة والسلام على سيدنا محمد وآله الطيبين الطاهرين.
حين وصلت إلى أستراليا في الأول من كانون الثاني سنة ٢٠١٠، وجدت أن حياة المغترب تفتح أسئلة تتصل بتفاصيل يومه: مصدر الطعام، وأوقات الصلاة، والعمل والسكن، وتربية الأبناء، والتعامل مع الناس في بيئة تختلف لغاتها وعاداتها. ومن هذه الحاجة بدأت سنة ٢٠١١ رحلة جمعٍ وقراءةٍ وإعدادٍ امتدت على مراحل، وأصبحت أساسًا لهذه السلسلة.
أجمع تحت عنوان «دروب المغترب» ما أرجو أن يعين المسلم وأسرته على وصل المعرفة الدينية بواقع الحياة في المهجر؛ في عبادته ومعاملاته، ودراسته وعمله، وعلاقته بأهله وجيرانه ومجتمعه. وأعتني بأن يفهم القارئ صورة المسألة وشروطها، وأن يعرف طريق الرجوع إلى مصدرها، وحسن صياغة السؤال حين تحتاج حالته إلى جواب خاص.
يضم هذا المسار كتاب «بوصلة المغترب»، الذي يرتّب أبواب الحياة اليومية ويصلها بمصادر الأحكام، وكتاب «زاد المغترب»، الذي يواصل العمل بتفصيل وقائع مركّبة وأسئلة معاصرة وتطبيقات تحتاج إلى مزيد من البيان. والعلاقة بينهما علاقة تكامل ومراجعة وتوسّع، بحسب ما تتجدد به حاجات الأسرة والجالية والحياة الرقمية.
أعتمد في الأحكام على فتاوى سماحة السيد علي الحسيني السيستاني «دام ظلّه» واستفتاءاته المنشورة في المصادر الرسمية، وأستفيد من «الفقه للمغتربين» وسائر الكتب الفتوائية ذات الصلة. وأميّز بين الحكم المنقول وشرحه والمثال التطبيقي والإرشاد التنظيمي. وترافق ذلك شواهد من القرآن الكريم وروايات أهل البيت عليهم السلام، مع حفظ مصادرها وسياقها.
أكتب بصفتي قارئًا وباحثًا وجامعًا للمادة، ولست رجل دين ولا صاحب فتوى أو اجتهاد. وأرجو أن تكون هذه الكتب عونًا على عبادة واعية، ومعاملة أمينة، وحفظ حقوق الأسرة والناس. وأرحب بالملاحظة الموثّقة والتصحيح، وتبقى هذه الأعمال قابلة للمراجعة والتحديث كلما دعت الحاجة.

Introduction to the series
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and blessings and peace be upon Muhammad and his pure family.
When I arrived in Australia on 1 January 2010, life abroad brought questions into the details of each day: the source of food, prayer times, work and housing, raising children, and relationships in a setting with different languages and customs. In 2011, these needs led me to begin a journey of reading, gathering material and writing, developed in stages into the foundation of this series.
Under the title Duroob al-Mughtarib — Pathways Abroad, I bring together work that I hope will help Muslims and their families connect religious knowledge with life abroad: worship and transactions, study and work, and responsibilities towards family, neighbours and society. I seek to help readers understand the circumstances and conditions of a question, return to its source, and formulate a clear enquiry when their own situation requires a specific answer.
The series brings together Buslat al-Mughtarib, which organises the concerns of everyday life and connects them to the sources of religious rulings, and Zad al-Mughtarib, which continues that work by examining complex situations, contemporary questions and applications requiring fuller explanation. The two books complement one another through review and expansion in response to changing family, community and digital life.
For religious rulings, I rely on the rulings and published responses of His Eminence Sayyid Ali al-Husayni al-Sistani, may Allah prolong his life, in official sources. I draw on Al-Fiqh lil-Mughtaribin and other relevant books of rulings. I distinguish reported rulings from explanation, practical examples and organisational guidance. Passages from the Holy Quran and narrations of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, accompany this material with attention to their sources and context.
I write as a reader, researcher and compiler, not as a cleric or an independent jurist. I hope these books support thoughtful worship, honest dealings and respect for the rights of families and others. I welcome documented corrections, and the works remain open to review and revision as needed.

تضم النسخة الموسّعة أربعةً وعشرين قسمًا ومائةً وأربعة عشر مبحثًا، وأطلسًا فوتوغرافيًا موثّقًا، وفهارس وملاحق وبطاقات عملية تساعد على البحث وإعداد السؤال. وقد جرى الجمع والإعداد والتأليف على مراحل بين ٢٠١١ و٢٠٢٦.

Buslat al-Mughtarib · The Expatriate’s Compass
A Muslim’s Guide to the Rulings of Life Abroad.
This book brings together worship, food, purity, prayer, housing, study, work, finances, family, social relationships and community life, extending to illness, death, wills and inheritance. It links these concerns to the sources of religious rulings while preserving their conditions and exceptions.
The expanded edition contains 24 sections and 114 topics, a documented photographic atlas, indexes, appendices and practical aids for research and preparing questions. It was compiled, written and revised in stages from 2011 to 2026.

Zad al-Mughtarib · Provisions for Life Abroad
A continuation of Buslat al-Mughtarib and a supplement to Al-Fiqh lil-Mughtaribin.
This companion work examines contemporary situations involving digital contracts, income from platforms and games, the use of artificial intelligence in conveying religious knowledge, family and care responsibilities, and institutional funds, endowments and donations.
It also considers travel and residence, interactions between non-mahrams, and the effect of circumstances and alternatives on the application of a ruling. Its 30 chapters and three appendices include practical cases, checklists, guidance on preparing enquiries and questions requiring clarification. Reported answers are distinguished from questions awaiting a documented response.
