These photographs revisit the joy and connection surrounding The Way to Freedom (Part 1: The Journey) receiving the Chairperson’s Refugee Stories Award at the 2025 Multicultural Film Festival.

For me, the recognition belongs to the students, staff and community members whose voices and collaboration shaped the documentary. The photographs capture the celebration, the conversations and the people who came together around a shared belief in the power of storytelling.
