From SELC to a Young Entrepreneur.
Hammood AL-Badry is a Greater Shepparton Secondary College student, storyteller, creative designer and young entrepreneur. His journey brings together learning, multicultural leadership, community service and the ambition to turn creative ideas into business opportunities.
At the beginning of 2024, Hammood moved from SELC to GSSC. That was when I began working with him. As his mentor, I support him at school and beyond the classroom through the Iraqi Community Centre, helping him develop his confidence, learning and ideas.
At GSSC, he contributed to the Story Seekers Book Project Club, joining a group of 38 student writers and interviewers sharing the stories of the school family. His volunteering also includes work with me at the Arabic station and with the organising team at the 2025 Victorian School of Languages Shepparton Culture and Language Expo.
His sustained service in 2025 and 2026 was recognised through GSSC’s Outstanding Multicultural Leadership & Community Service certificate. He also received an award for an innovation at the school’s Art & Technology Exhibition.
Alongside his school and community commitments, Hammood is developing MO EDITING SERVICE, offering design, editing and marketing content. His portfolio includes work for Samy Driving School, S.E Barber and Alz Barber. Building on experience sourcing and selling watches, he is also developing his own watch venture, LUVÉRE.

Leadership through creativity and service.
Recognition for an inventive idea.
Hammood received an award for an innovation at GSSC’s Art & Technology Exhibition. For me, this is a proud example of a student developing an idea and sharing it with the school community.
The exhibition poster records the event on 9 September 2026 in L1 Enterprise at GSSC.

Sharing the stories of the GSSC school family.
Hammood was part of the Story Seekers Book Project Club at GSSC. For the book, 38 students, participating as writers and interviewers, worked together to share stories of the GSSC school family: its leadership team, teachers, educators and students.
The project brought students’ perspectives into a shared process of writing and research. It explored education, cultural inclusion and personal growth, while giving the group practical experience in teamwork and storytelling.
I guided their work as the club’s mentor. Diya Ali BANGASH and Kadir SUT also participated in this shared project.
